Internationalisation
Experiences of other countries' cultures and customs create a part of the
profession's learning process. In today's multicultural societies, people have
to be able to communicate and move in the labour markets globally.
Students of PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences have the opportunity to take
part of their degree studies abroad. There are several possibilities, such as
student and trainee exchange, intensive courses and different kinds of
international projects.
Internationalisation is a part of student life at PIRAMK University of Applied
Sciences, which is guaranteed by the presence of foreign exchange and degree
students as well as expert lecturers from partner institutions. This
“internationalisation at home” is also supported by studies offered
in English. At present there are three degree programmes studied entirely in
English: Nursing, Social Services and Tourism. Other degree programmes also
offer courses in English, and PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences has also
signed an agreement with the other three universities in Tampere to offer joint
courses.
PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences has been very active in international
programmes and signed bilateral agreements with some 150 institutions in over
20 countries. We are active partners in several cooperation programmes, such as
Leonardo da Vinci, Nordic Council’s Nordplus networks, the North-South
programme and the FIRST programme with Russia.
Internationalisation is also possible through international student tutoring.
