Career and Recruitment Services
The aim of the career and recruitment services of PIRAMK is to promote
contacts between employers and students in the Tampere Region, to function as a
quick and flexible recruitment channel for employers and to support students in
employment and career planning.
Jobstep.net
The national career and recruitment network of the Finnish polytechnics,
www.jobstep.net is available for both students and teachers. Through the
network, students can present their know-how and search for jobs, training
places or thesis projects. The use of the service is free of charge. Students
can use the service during the whole study time and still a year after
graduation.
Employers can search for polytechnic students or recently graduated students
for different kinds of posts. Employers browse applicants’ CVs or add
their own job advertisements into the Jobstep network. The only way to compete
is to have an active CV in the system.
Short Instructions on Jobstep.net for Students
- During the first visit, students register into the system. User
identification is PIRAMK + their own WINHA identification number (7 digits)
without space characters and their own password (at least 5 characters).
- The official starting date of the degree programme is entered as the
starting date of education (transfer students enter the date they have been
transferred to PIRAMK).
- After registration, Jobstep is always entered through logging in by
using the user identification (PIRAMK+WINHA identification) and password.
- When you are actively searching for a job, training place or thesis
project, make sure that your CV and the “watchdog” are active. In
order to keep the CV active, it has to be updated once a month.
It is possible to get guidance in using the system either individually or in
groups.

Search for Work and Career Planning
Employers search for trainees, employees, bachelor´s thesis writers and
project personnel throughthe Jobstep
network, electronic bulletin board or by contacting the units of PIRAMK
directly. Students should follow advertising on all channels.
Career and recruitment services organise events with its cooperation partners
where students can meet representatives of working life, hear of posts the
employers offer and hear about matters related to practical training and thesis
projects. Students should follow advertising on the electronic bulletin board.
If you feel you need personal guidance in career planning and search for
employment, contact either the contact person of your own unit or the career
and recruitment coordinator. Career planning matters are also discussed in
studies related to practical training, working life knowledge and professional
growth.
