Cost of Living

Personal Life and Study Costs
International students do not have to pay tuition fees. Students have to pay for their study material themselves, like books and working clothes, as well as their accommodation and other living expenses and travel costs. The total monthly expenditure of single students averages around 600-700 EUR, which does not include the expenses for the possible leisure activities. Expenses for study books are very low, since most of the books can be borrowed from the libraries.

Other costs depend very much on the student’s personal way of life. The costs of hobbies and sports vary much depending on the locality. For example, it is very much cheaper to ride a horse in Virrat than in Tampere.

Average Monthly Expenditure
Rent 170-350 EUR
Food 250 EUR
Transport 40 EUR (local transportation)
Leisure, other personal costs 140 EUR

The membership fee of the Student Union of PIRAMK University of Applied Sciences is about 20 EUR per academic year.
